"I am an atheist; I don’t believe in God." That was the first thing a secular Jewish man said this when he arrived at our ministry refuge in Poland, seeking rest after the burdens of war. However, after a week of simple hospitality, quiet safety, and authentic Christian care, he wanted to share his experience. Several others also asked our representative to let them leave notes about their experiences. Our representative quickly took out her phone, and with their permission to record video testimonies, he expressed deep gratitude for the peace and unconditional love he felt from the Christians during that week.

Coach’s Corner: Building Relational Trust Over Transactional Outreach

FOI Ministry Partnership Coach William Busch conducting a virtual coaching session with national field representatives.

This month, during my coaching sessions with 24 international representatives from 9 countries, we emphasized cross-cultural understanding and relational communication. Frontline workers often encounter cultural obstacles or hesitate to share their ministry needs for fear of coming across as transactional. Whether in Germany, France, Israel, or Eastern Europe, I encourage them to lead with authentic field stories and prioritize genuine relationships. By helping our representatives break down complex strategies into simple, practical routines and to share God’s work authentically without pressure, these workers gain the confidence to remain on the field, develop enduring partner teams in their regions, and expand ministry impact within native Jewish communities.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." — Romans 1:16 (KJV)
